The Value of Counsel and Mentorship in Ministry
Influences are vital to the growth and success of any ministry. While we are ultimately guided by the unwavering truth of God’s Word, the wisdom and experiences of others serve as a valuable resource for learning, growth, and effective ministry. Proverbs 15:22 reminds us, “Without counsel, plans go awry, but in the multitude of counselors they are established.”
At FCOM, we firmly believe in the power of friendship, fellowship, and mentorship. Through intentional relationships with those who have “been there and done that,” we seek to glean knowledge, avoid pitfalls, and strengthen our efforts to serve God’s kingdom. Fellowship with seasoned leaders and faithful servants offers us not only practical guidance but also encouragement and inspiration for the journey ahead.
This approach underscores our commitment to humility and teachability, recognizing that no ministry operates in isolation. We are part of a larger body of Christ, designed to grow together and share the burdens and victories of the calling we all share. By seeking out wise counsel, sharing experiences, and learning from those who have walked the road before us, we align ourselves with God’s design for collaborative ministry and shared wisdom.
As FCOM engages in ministry locally and globally, we prioritize building relationships with mentors, advisors, and fellow laborers in the faith. These relationships shape our strategies, affirm our calling, and deepen our commitment to serving others with integrity and excellence. Through friendship and fellowship, we are not only learning but also fostering a culture of continuous growth and accountability, ensuring that our plans align with God’s will and His greater purpose.
Together, guided by the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and the counsel of faithful men and women, we move forward with confidence, knowing that our steps are established by the multitude of counselors who encourage and refine us.
